NETGEAR’s EVA700 Digital Entertainer plays all of your digital videos, photos and music directly from your PC, NETGEAR Storage Central (SC101) or streaming from the Internet right to your TV and home stereo system. You can even play files saved on a USB storage device such as a USB thumb drive, USB disk, iPOD™ or digital camera with a USB interface.

EVA700 connects to your home network and the Internet without wires via an integrated 802.11g wireless adapter, or a standard wired Ethernet connection. If you combine EVA700 with the 200 Mbps Powerline HD Ethernet Adapters (HDXB101 sold separately), you get high-quality, reliable connections for hours of video and audio streaming over your home’s powerlines.

EVA700 is compliant with Intel Viiv 1.5 and up, and supports seamless access t o content, applications and services available on Intel Viiv PCs. EVA700 also supports access to content residing in Microsoft® Windows® Media Center PCs and other UPnP AV media servers such as Rhapsody® and TwonkyVision.

Wireless networking, for all its value and simplicity, can sometimes be frustrating. Stated performance is not always achieved. Coverage gaps and connection drops can sometimes occur for seemingly no reason. It can be hard to determine whether a link is secure. And sometimes adding another access point makes things worse, not better.

It is commonly accepted that wireless LANs rarely perform at specified rates. Stronger Security
The NETGEAR ProSafe Wireless Access Points offer many standards-based security features, such as (802.11i) Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA2), and Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP). AutoCell creates an additional level of privacy by providing self-organizing micro cells for businesses. In the Enhanced Privacy mode, AutoCell shrinks the size of coverage to the minimum to reach clients, while also shrinking the size of the beacons that announce its presence. This mode, which requires AutoCell in both the client and access point, makes the wireless LAN nearly invisible to users outside an office building, as it transmits only to the most distant AutoCell-enabled PC. AutoCell clients such as the NETGEAR ProSafe Wireless PC Cards are highly recommended for enhanced RF Security.
